NOTD Ruffian-inspired Moon Manicure

I've been super excited to try out the "Moon Manicure", eclipse version, ever since its debut at Ruffian's Fall 2010 NYFW Show.

I know I technically didn't have to wait until fall to do this mani, but I love the dark nails with the metallic, and that doesn't exactly read "summer" to me.  I know it's not yet fall...but I'm antsy and it's close enough.  My first attempt didn't pan out so well because I used nail guides...big mistake.  It left my manicure all lumpy and the lines weren't really straight.  This time, I freehanded it, and I think my results were much better.  Check out my mani after the jump!

NOTD Twilight-inspired and Accidental Independence Day

Before I get to my post, I have to say that this is my first post on my new laptop!  The husband was super sweet and surprised me with a new one since my old dinosaur was giving me so many problems.  He wanted me to have a nicer, faster one to do my blogging on.  Everyone say it with me, "Awwwwwwww!!"

This is the last of my Twilight posts, well for a while, anyway.  I promise.  This mani/pedi combo was inspired by, duh, the Twilight Saga, and more specifically, Eclipse.  I saw the movie last night, and I loved it.  I won't go into the nitty-gritty details, as I know most of you really don't care.  I know it's not going to be an Oscar winner, but I loved the movie for what it is, and I do recommend it for its entertainment purposes.  It's one you can just sit back and watch.

Team Edward 4Eva!!  (For 4 bucks, I had to get the tee...I've already gotten $4 worth of giggles out of it)

OK, now that's out of the way, on to the mani/pedi.  For you non-Twi-hards, I will explain my color choices, starting with the mani:

Polishes used - mani:
OPI Designer Series Coronation
Zoya Posh Matte (but I used a clear topcoat over it)

For the mani, I wanted the blood red (Zoya Posh) with the sparkle factor (OPI DS Coronation) to represent the vampires.  See the pretty holo!  I chose to try out the crescent trend, and...I'm gonna need more practice.  It turned out okay, but not great.  Still, I did get compliments, so I'll count it as a win!

Deep Sea Treasure Ombré Manicure

A request from a lovely reader!  I did this manicure a few weeks back using China Glazes Atlantis and Clepoatra glitter polishes, and really loved the results.  Here is the look we're going for:

Over the taupe glam?

I know, I know...a pun for my first beauty post?  Sorry, but I couldn't resist.  Y'all can thank my dad for my love of the occasional pun.  This is a manicure I did using Chanel Particuliere and Illusion D'Or Le Vernis.  I realize Particuliere is old news, but I thought I would update it with one of Chanel's newest Le Vernis releases, Illusion D'Or.  Illusion D'Or has been much blogged about already, so I'll spare you the details and just get the the good stuff - pictures!
